Metal nanopartics properties, perspectives and risks of their use in many areas

The present paper provides information on the properties, fields of application and risks associated with the use of metal nanoparticles. The properties of metal nanoparticles change depending on the metal, size, shape and structure. An important category of metal nanoparticles, including Fe3O4, ZnO, Ag, offers attractive perspective in biomedicine, research, biotechnology, industry, pharmaceuticals. One of the main problems of using nanoparticles is the need to evaluate and avoid risks to the environment and human health. For the time being, nanotechnologies regulation and standards are reflected in the legislation, such as the European Community regulation on chemicals and their safe use. 42 references
