Evaluation of the physical properties of Sansevieria cylindrica fabric for shirtings, linings and summer dresses

Sansvieria cylindrica, based on initial evaluation, exhibited good characteristics as a potential substitute for synthetic fiber used in yarns. Hence, this study evaluated the physical properties of Sansivieria cylindrica fabric in terms of dimensional stability, tensile strength, and abrasion resistance based on the ISO [International Standard for Organization] and ASTM [American Society of Testing Materials] standard procedure for testing. The study found out that the Sansevieria cylindrica or filling yarns has a dimensional range acceptable within the standard range of 1 to 5%, a breaking strength of 63 higher than 37 of the warp yarns, and a breakage until rapture of 6201 less durable than 4501 of warp yarns. Moreover, it is categorized as light weight fabric with a weight of 143g/sqm.
