The paper presents the 115-year history of fisheries science development on the Caspian Sea from the Ichthyologic Laboratory to the present research institute - FSUE CaspNIRKh. It is the largest research and methodological center on the Caspian Sea. Due to expeditionary investigations the Institute annually develops and presents scientifically substantiated predictions of changes in the state of bioresources and ecosystem of the Caspian Sea
