The accumulation of pesticides in the soil presents a serious ecological problem, especially considering the possibility of transport to other members of the ecosystem, surface and groundwater, and the phytotoxicity of the next crop in the rotation. Monitoring carried out within this study, a presence of fungicide and insecticide residues was determined in the region of Srem. Presence of 29 pesticide active substance residues in 56 soil samples was analyzed, and it was carried out by gas chromatography with mass spectrometry. In general, the most commonly detected were the residues of flusilazole, pyrimethanil, propiconazole, and pyriproxyfen. In the Republic of Serbia, regarding the Regulations that refer to the maximum residue level of pesticides in the soil, the Regulation on the Program for Systematic Monitoring of Land Quality, by indicators for assessing the risk of land degradation and the methodology for making of remediation programs (Official Gazette of RS, No. 88/2010) exists, but it refers to the pesticide products that are no longer on the market.
