The aim of the work was to determine the dependence of protein use and indicators of protein metabolism in young cattle on the applied mechanical methods of processing high-protein concentrates. To achieve this aim, the Republican Unitary Enterprise “Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus on Animal Husbandry" conducted research on 2 groups of young cattle of black-motley breed at the age of 3–6 months for 60 days. During the experiments, effect of the method of preparing the field pea grain for feeding on physiological state and performance of steers was studied. It was determined that inclusion of crushed grain in the compound feed had the most favorable effect on protein metabolism of young animals compared with ground grain. It was also noted that animals consuming the crushed grain in a ration showed higher growth energy than that animals consuming the ration with ground grain. Thus, the average daily weight gain made 798 g for the first group, and 761 g for the second one. / Цель работы – определение зависимости использования протеина и показателей белкового обмена у молодняка крупного рогатого скота от применяемых механических способов обработки высокобелковых концентратов. В РУП «Научно-практический центр Национальной академии наук Беларуси по животноводству» проведены исследования на 2-х группах молодняка крупного рогатого скота чёрно-пёстрой породы в возрасте 3–6 месяцев в течение 60 дней. В ходе опытов изучалось влияние способа подготовки зерна пелюшки к скармливанию на физиологическое состояние и продуктивность бычков. Установлено, что включение в комбикорма дроблёного зерна оказало наиболее благоприятно отразилось на белковом обмене молодняка в сравнении с молотым. Также отмечено, что у животных, потреблявших в составе рациона дроблёное зерно, энергия роста была выше, чем у аналогов, в рацион которых входило молотое зерно: так, у первых среднесуточный прирост живой массы составил 798 г, а у вторых – 761 г.
