Французский. En mars 2001, un Groupement d'Intérêt Scientifique intitulé " Génétique, Amélioration et Protection du Peuplier " a été créé. Il lie les activités des trois organismes en France spécialisés sur le sujet : l'AFOCEL, le Cemagref et l'INRA. Les axes stratégiques majeurs sont la recherche de cultivars performants et la conception et la gestion d'un programme d'amélioration.
