The study of fruits, common in Georgia, almond nuts (kernels) for mycotoxins.
2018
The literary data and almond varieties in Georgia were established. The raw materials needed for experimentation were collected in Martkopi and Adjara. Their pharmaco-botanical character is in harmony with the literature. As it turned out, it is not always possible to observe mold fungi on the almond fruit, because mold generally nests in the seedlings. Various chemical and biological methods were used to detect aflatoxin. The biological methods of research are time consuming and characterized by low detection. Chemical methods are not always specific, but are more accurate and evident. Usually, the presence of toxins is confirmed by their examination by a microscope or loupe, and is determined by a bioassay. Laboratory analysis established that the concentration of aflatoxin generated by 10-20-component cells of mold fungi does not exceed 0.19 µm/kg; it means that the selected samples of almond are not dangerous to human life, because a healthy organism has the ability to process this volume of toxins during a day.
