A field experiment was carried out during winter (rabi) seasons during 2000-04 to study the response of coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) to inorganic nitrogen, farmyard manure and biofertilizer at Jobner (Jaipur). Results revealed that the application of 100% inorganic N + Azospirillum @ 1.5 kg/ha + 5 tonnes farmyard manure/ha recorded the maximum height of plants (74.1 cm), number of branches/plant (7.50), umbels/plant (25.0), umbellets/umbel (6.09) and seeds/umbel (46.8). This treatment also recorded significantly higher seed yield (889 kg/ha) over rest of the treatments except 75% inorganic N + Azospirillum @ 1.5 kg/ha + 5 tonnes farmyard manure/ha and 100% inorganic N alone. Maximum net returns of Rs 7 732/ha was recorded under 100% inorganic N + Azospirillum @ 1.5 kg/ha + 5 tonnes farmyard manure/ha while highest benefit: cost ratio of 1.58: 1 was obtained under 100% inorganic N alone, followed by 100% inorganic N + Azospirillum + 5 tonnes farmyard manure/ha.
