Potato (Solanumtuberosum L.) is an important horticultural crop in Indonesia that has ahigh economic value. Development of potato crops at medium altitude is currently facingseveral constraints. The main constraint is environmental exposure to high temperatures. Tomaintain potato supply, there is a constant need for a cultivation technology to manipulate theenvironment where the plant grows using a mulching technology that affects the temperatureof the soil. The purpose of this study is to describe the most suitable mulch combination withplant spacing in order to increase potato yields at medium altitude. The results showed that thepotatoes grown with a plant spacing of 60 × 30 cm on rice straw mulch had the highest growthcomponent at 8WAP. The plant height, stem diameter, and leaf area were 110.40 cm, 13.20 mmand 3,959.90 cm2, respectively. The growth rate was 2.36 gram/day, the dry weight was 660.73grams and the yield was 66.30 tons ha-1. To grow potato in medium altitude is recomendedusing straw mulch and plant spasing 60 × 30 cm.
