Fusarium solani is a cosmopolitan species which can be found in various ecosystems including peat swamps. Peat soils are known as a tropical moist forest with the waterlogged condition, highly acidic and low input of nutrient. This condition provides an extreme environment for fungal growth. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the occurrence of F. solani in peat swamp soils. Samples of peat soils were obtained from Sungai Beriah and Beriah Kecil, Perak. Isolation of Fusarium isolates were done using three methods namely direct isolation, debris isolation and dilution technique. A total of 16 isolates was identified based on the morphological characters of macroconidia, conidiogenous cells and pigmentation. The F. solani isolates were recovered from direct isolation and debris isolation techniques. Thus, the results of the present study showed that F. solani could be found in peat soils.
