Mastitis is, in modern cattle breeding, one of the most important health problems for dairycows. In addition to the health aspect and the obvious impact on animal welfare, mastitis isone of the largest financial costs of a cow farm due to the cost of the therapy itself and therejected milk due to the withdrawal period, as well as permanently reduced milk productionor complete cessation of lactation in severe forms of mastitis. To this should be added the costof possible deaths or premature excretion of cows from production. The experiment wasconducted on two dairy farms with different bacteriological findings from milk samples. Forbacteriological tests, aseptically collected milk samples were tested in a microbiologylaboratory. The amount of milk was measured using true-testers mounted on the milking unit.On both farms, the highest milk production was in cows with a negative bacteriologicalfinding and the lowest in cows with isolated udder pathogens. The presence of saprophytesshowed a smaller impact on milk production.
