The article deals with the aspects of entomocomplex formation in irrigated agricultural landscapes. The study demonstratesthe role of irrigation in increasing the stability of entomological communities by increasing the number of species included inthe agroecosystem as well as presents data on the number of species of entomofauna of the phyto- tier, ground and groundcover tiers in the agrocenoses of the main field crops. The species composition of entomofauna in irrigated agricultural landscapes of the Lower Volga Region includes 1723 species, of which 1435 species are indicated for agrocenoses while 1583 of them are indicated for natural biotopes. The study provides the data on changes in the trophic structure of entomocomplexes under irrigation conditions in comparison with non-irrigated conditions. The research finds that the relative abundance ofpredatory and parasitic insect species was more than 7 times higher than without irrigation.
