Increasing temperatures and decreasing amount of water available for agriculture in the world as well as in Turkey have caused the crops to be grown in more arid enviroments. As in many regions of our country, the production of dry beans is mostly done on dry conditions including our study, too. Therefore, in this thesis study, it was aimed to determine drought resistant genotypes grown in the regions where dry bean production is widely performed by using some physiological and biochemical parameters of 8 dry bean cultivars (Yunus 90, Cihan, Göynük 98, Batalla, Alberto, Arslan, Zirve, Noyanbey 98). The field experiment was carried out on full and semi-irrigated conditions during 2015 season production. Yield, yield characteristics, duration of flowering and ripening, relative water content, stomatal conductivity, leaf temperature, membrane stability index, H2O2 amount, proline amount, lipid peroxidation, photosynthesis rate, leaf chlorophyll content, protein rate, swelling index and drought sensitivity index were examined for the selection of drought resistant varieties. It was determined that 8 dry bean varieties showed different responses to drought stress. The dry bean varieties were found to be more affected at generative stage than vegetative stage to drought stress.
