Modelling of basal area increment in brutian pine (Pinus brutia Ten.) plantations in Aglasun region

In this study, the regression equation modelling for single tree and stand basal area increment by stand age, site index and stand density degree was developed for Brutian pine (Pinus brutia Ten.) plantations in Aglasun Forest Enterprise. The data were obtained from 60 sample plots with its stand age 32-38, site quality III (BE=7.48-14.85 m) and stand density degree (SD=0.771-1.416). The coefficient of determination (R2) standart error (Se) of this regression model are 0.898 and 0.053 m2/ha/year. When analyzed this model results, it is concluded that these increment values are increasing with site index and stand density degree, decreasing with stand age. With using this model, it is possible that single tree and stand basal area increment for stands of Brutian pine located in Ağlasun Forest Enterprise are predicted for similar stand characteristics. The increment prediction obtained by this model can be utilized for different forestry sciences.
