Microbiological preparation Subtimix is one of the newest products of SIA "Bioefekts". It contains soil bacteria Bacillus subtilis and microscopic fungi of the genus Trichoderma. Bacillus subtilis (hay bacillus) is an aerobic bacterium that releases antibiotics into the environment in small concentrations substances that restrict the development of saprophytic and pathogenic microflora. They have the ability to form a biofilm around the roots of the plant, which prevents the entry of pathogens. They convert phosphorus compounds to the plant available form, as well as improves nitrogen fixation, synthesizes substances that stimulate plant growth and increases resistance. Mushrooms of the genus Trichoderma also promote plant growth, the plant develops stronger roots, the resistance of plants to adverse environmental factors and disease-causing infections is improving. Taking In view of the potential of those micro – organisms for the control of plant pathogens, the new product is a microbiological fertilizer, improving the availability of nutrients, but theoretically promotes the plant growth and reduces the infestation of plant pathogens by inducing plant protection reactions. One of the most important crop species in Latvia is potatoes, which served as the determining factor in the choice of research object. Information on the positive effects of Bacillus subtilis on potato yield is already available in the literature (Lastochkina et al., 2020) and correct Trichoderma spp. effectiveness in disease control of tubers (Hicks et al., 2014), however, there are still few studies conducted under production conditions. In this publication reflects the results obtained during the two years, which were clarified by the AREI Priekuli Research Centre in organic crop rotation.
