Improved productivity and flow at the constructionsite, using RFID technology and innovative logisticsplanning | Forbedret produktivitet og flyt på byggeplass, ved hjelp av RFID-teknologi og innovativ logistikkplanlegging

Byggebransjen har i de senere årene fått mye kritikk for lav innovasjonsevne og dårligproduktivitet i sine prosjekter. Bransjen er i endring, der et marked har økt i takt med verdenshandelen og konkurransen mellom entreprenørene er blitt større. Dette gjelder også for Skanska, som ved å være et internasjonalt konsern må tilpasse seg enorme markedskrefter i en verdensøkonomi som har vært preget av store utfordringer de siste årene. Fokuset har vært å utvikle tiltak som kan forbedre problemene i Skanska knyttet til minimal produktivitetsutvikling og svak logistikk. Mye av inspirasjonen er hentet fra stasjonær industri og byggebransjens svar på Lean Production; Lean Construction. Ved å fokusere på en slank produksjon er målet for Skanska å kunne gjennomføre prosjekter på den mest effektive måten, uten at hindringer eller feilproduksjon oppstår. Problemstillingen i denne oppgaven lyder som følger «Vil RFID-teknologi i samsvar med logistikkverktøyet S-LOG forbedre logistikkflyt og produktivitet på byggeplass?» Logistikkverktøyet S-LOG utvikles i samarbeid mellom ACT Systems og NPU Logistics, som er logistikkavdelingen i Skanska. Verktøyet er et styringsverktøy som tar for seg styring av alle de prosessene som er grunnlaget for en god logistikkflyt på Skanskas byggeplasser. I tillegg er prosjektets fremdriftsplaner og verktøy for involverende planlegging tilgjengelig gjennom et SMARTboard™, som gir deltakerne direkte innsikt i planlagt produksjon. RFID-teknologi presenteres i oppgaven som et verktøy for innsamling av data vedrørende materialhåndtering, mottakskontroll, lagerstyring og kontroll av soneaktiviteter for å nevne noen. Teknologien gjør det mulig for prosjektledelsen på et prosjekt å samle inn all informasjon om produksjonen, og vil kunne gi grunnlag for forståelse av virkelig produksjon og hvordan produktivitet kan forbedres. Dagens planleggingsprognoser bygger på antagelser om fremtiden og erfaringen fra tidligere prosjekt. RFID vil gi grunnlag for en database som bygger på informasjon om virkelig hendelser gjennom produksjon, og en subjektiv tolkning av produksjonsgjennomføring kan unngås. Det kan først foretas forbedring av en aktivitet der roten til problemet er kjent. RFID i samsvar med forbedret innrapportering og styring av logistikkflyt vil gi Skanska mulighet for en økt produktivitet på sine byggeplasser. Skanska må ta høyde for svakheter i teknologi og menneskelig svikt under styrings- og planleggingsprosesser. Английский. The construction industry has in recent years received much criticism for the low innovation and poor productivity in their projects. The industry is changing doe to the development in the global trade and the competition has increased, even for locale entrepreneurs. This also applies for Skanska. They are an international company and must adapt to the enormous market powers in a world economy that has been tough in the recent years. The focus has been on developing measures to improve the problems associated with minimal productivity and poor logistics. The construction industry looks to the product industry for inspiration, and made a version of Lean Production. Lean Construction focuses on the most efficient way to produce, without obstacles or that production errors occur. The main problem in this study has been: “Can RFID-technology in accordance with the logistics tool S-LOG improve logistics flow and productivity on site?” S-LOG is developed in collaboration between ACT Systems and NPU Logistics, which is the logistics department at Skanska. S-LOG is a management tool that focuses on managing all of the processes that represent a good logistic flow on Skanska’s construction sites. A SMARTboard™ is placed on site, and gives the participants a direct insight into the planned production. RFID technology can be used as an instrument for collecting data on material handling, delivery control, stock management and control over zone activities. The technology makes it possible for the project management to collect all information about the project and provide an understanding of the real production and how productivity can be increased. The current planning projections are based on assumptions about the future and experience from previous projects. RFID-technology will provide Skanska with a database that contains information about actual incidents through the production, and a subjective interpretation of the production can be avoided. Skanska can only improve their activities if they know why a problem or an obstacle appears in the first place. RFID in accordance with improved reporting and management of logistics flow will give Skanska the opportunity for increased productivity at their construction sites. Skanska must consider weaknesses in technology and human errors in the process of management and planning. An implementation will, regardless of errors, lead to a production where Lean Thinking is one of the main focuses, and will give Skanska a more cost-effective production.
