Genomic Selection in Cattle

This review aims to present the historical development and importance of genomic selection in cattle. Human beings have been trying to obtain more yield from farm animals for centuries. For this purpose, the livestock industry has utilized many new biotechnological methods for breeding cows and bulls with high genetic capacity in the last century. Genomic selection is one of these biotechnological methods (maybe the most important one). Therefore, in this review, genomic selection and its terms to evaluate the genomic are introduced.
