Русский. Сахарная свекла в России является одной из составляющих продовольственной безопасности страны. Помимо выработки сахара из свеклы, продукты его переработки с успехом используются в животноводстве, парфюмерной, спиртовой промышленности. Как отмечалось в Стратегии инновационного развития России до 2030 г., необходимо добиться конкурентоспособного уровня во всех отраслях агропромышленного комплекса. Как показали проведенные исследования, свеклосахарная подотрасль развивается – повышаются урожайность, сахаристость клубней, определяющим фактором в дальнейшем повышении эффективности производства сахарной свеклы становится качество посевного материала. До последнего времени источником качественных семян являлся импорт. После принятия "Федеральной научно-технической программы развития сельского хозяйства на 2021–2025 г." и подпрограммы "Развитие селекции и семеноводства сахарной свеклы в Российской Федерации" ситуация стала постепенно меняться – отечественными селекционерами выведены новые конкурентоспособные гибриды, в ряде случаев не уступающие по своим посевным качествам импортным. Стали шире применяться инновационные технологии. Одним из важнейших достижений является расшифровка генома сахарной свеклы, что позволит использовать полученную информацию для поиска новых маркеров хозяйственно-ценных признаков культуры. Однако, "продвижение" отечественных гибридов на поля свекловодческих хозяйств идет слабо по ряду причин. В целом задачи, стоявшие перед участниками Подпрограммы, выполняются. Но те объемы семян, производство которых было запланировано, в современных геополитических условиях уже не актуальны. Они не могут полностью удовлетворить потребности свеклосеющих хозяйств. Более того, разрушенная в 1990-х гг. семеноводческая база, пока не восстановлена. Рассмотренные вопросы могут быть отражены в концепции инновационного развития АПК России на среднесрочную и отдаленную перспективу.

Английский. Sugar beet in Russia is one of the components of the country's food security. In addition to the production of sugar from beets, its processed products are successfully used in animal husbandry, perfumery, alcohol industry, etc. As noted in the Strategy of Innovative Development of Russia until 2030, it is necessary to achieve a competitive level in all branches of the agro-industrial sector. As the studies have shown, the sugar beet subsector is developing: the yield and sugar content of tubers are increasing; the quality of the seed material becomes the determining factor in further increasing the effectiveness of sugar beet production. Until recently, the source of high-quality seeds was imports. After the adoption of the Federal Scientific and Technical Program for the Development of Agriculture for 2021-2025 and the Subprogram "Development of Breeding and Seed Production of Sugar Beet in the Russian Federation", the situation began to change gradually, domestic breeders have bred new competitive hybrids, in some cases not inferior in the sowing qualities to imported ones. Innovative technologies such as cultivation of parental forms in vitro, genomic engineering, etc. have become more widely. One of the most important achievements is the decoding of the sugar beet genome, which will allow using the information to search for new markers of economically valuable traits of the crop. However, the "promotion" of domestic hybrids to the fields of beet farms is weak for a number of reasons. In general, the tasks faced by the participants of the Subprogram are performed. But those volumes of seeds, the production of which was planned, are no longer relevant in modern geopolitical conditions. They cannot fully meet the needs of beet-cultivating farms. Moreover, the seed production system destroyed in the 1990-s has not yet been restored. The issues discussed can be reflected in the concept of innovative development of the agro-industrial sector of Russia for the medium and long terms.
