Laser scanning in the study of the structure of forest stands of the upper forest boundary in the Southern Urals | Лазерное сканирование в исследовании структуры древостоев верхней границы леса на Южном Урале

Английский. When studying the structure of forest stands on the upper border of the forest, a new method was used to obtain and process field material by above ground laser scanning. Information about the structure of the vegetation cover on the upper forest boundary, which is most sensitive to climate change, is not sufficiently disclosed in modern studies. The results of laser scanning can provide detailed information about the structure and dynamics of aboveground vegetation in the studied conditions. The possibility of using laser scanning in the upper forest boundary ecotone was tested. The peaks of the Iremel mountain range located in the southern Urals (the border of the Chelyabinsk region and the Republic of Bashkortostan) served as the research object. Laser scanning was carried out on a high-altitude profile in 2020 at an altitude of 1329–1411 m above sea level. Using this method, digital terrain and forest canopy models were obtained. These models made it possible to determine the boundaries of the crowns of trees and shrubs. Based on the analyzed data, mapping of tree and shrub vegetation was carried out with the determination of the main taxation characteristics (tree height, crown length, crown area). The research allowed obtaining detailed information about the location (latitude and longitude) of 2639 trees and shrubs on the studied altitude profile. It was also found that the average height of trees on the profile gradually decreases from 3.7 m to 2.8 m with an increase in height from 1340 to 1400 m above sea level, as well as the degree of crown density. The length and width of the projection of the crowns, on the contrary, increase and the crown area changes from 2.2 to 3.1 m2.

Русский. При изучении структуры древостоев на верхней границе леса был применен новый метод получения и обработки полевого материала путем наземного лазерного сканирования. Информация о структуре растительного покрова на верхней границе леса, наиболее чувствительной к изменениям климата, в современных исследованиях раскрыта недостаточно. Результаты лазерного сканирования могут дать подробную информацию о структуре и динамике надземной растительности в изучаемых условиях. Была проверена возможность применения лазерного сканирования в экотоне верхней границы леса. В качестве объекта исследований послужили вершины горного массива Иремель, расположенного на Южном Урале (граница Челябинской области и Республики Башкортостан). Лазерное сканирование проводилось на высотном профиле в 2020 г. на высоте 1329–1411 м над уровнем моря. С помощью данного метода получены цифровые модели местности и лесного полога. Данные модели позволили определить границы крон деревьев и кустарников. На основе проанализированных данных проведено картирование древесно-кустарниковой растительности с определением основных таксационных характеристик (высота дерева, протяженность кроны, площадь кроны). Исследования позволили получить подробную информацию о местоположении (широта и долгота) 2639 деревьев и кустарников на изучаемом высотном профиле. Выявлено, что средняя высота деревьев на профиле снижается постепенно от 3,7 до 2,8 м с увеличением высоты от 1340 до 1400 м над уровнем моря, как и степень сомкнутости крон. Длина и ширина проекции крон, напротив, увеличиваются, и площадь кроны изменяется от 2,2 до 3,1 м2.
