In the general discussion on soil conservation, farming is of special interest. Among the causes of possible stress, tillage intensity is a critical factor because it can increase soil compaction and soil erosion. One approach to soil saving and protective plant production can be seen in conservation tillage. Some components can already be partially recommended for use in practice, others have to be further developed. Agricultural engineering has to play an important role in this process, as well as in the introduction of farming methods.
