Немецкий. This paper discusses seveal functions which could describe the process of the passing of insect population from one development stage into another. A final function is based on the classical autocatalytic equation, modified for this problem. The function was primarily derived to characterize the developmental changes in the population of the European moth, Lobesia botrana Den. et Schiff. The applicability of the modified function was checked on the rearing data from laboratory and the field conditions. A detailed description of the method of rearing Lobesia botrana Den. et Schiff. in natural conditions is presented
