Six fungicides namely Bavistin 50 WP (0.1%) Benlate T-20 (0.1%), Copac (0.1%), Calixin 75 EC (0.05%), Dithane M-45 (0.2%) and Tilt 100 EC (0.1%) were applied thrice beginning at 40, 50, 60, and 70 days of plant age to control tikka (Cercospora arachidicola Hori and C. personata (Berk and Curt.) Deighton) and rust (Puccinia arachidis Speg) of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L). All of them gave reduction in severity of both the diseases as well as increased the pod yield significantly (P-0.01). However, application of Bavistin during 40 to 70 days of plant age to control tikka and spray with Calixin within 40 to 60 days of plant age against rust were the best treatment.
