For controlling leafminers at their egg stages, action threshold was determined in relation to the number of eggs and mines. The injury threshold also, but concerning the species leafminer different number of eggs was in question. Control by an ovicide and an ovolarvicide using 1-2 spray treatments in commercial apple orchards has proved successful in the spring generation of species Leucoptera scitella and Phyllonorycter blancardella on different varieties of apples and in different climatic conditions
