This experiment was conducted to classify Nakdong-river's floods by meteorological conditions and to investigate the reduction of peanut yield by inundation. 101 floods were recorded occurring concentrically in Jul, Aug and Sep from 1924 to 1984. 47 % of the total cases occurred between2048early Jul and early Aug. Decade's distribution frequency of flood shows peak in mid Jul, in which 14 % of the total cases occurred. The synoptic situations associated with floods were classified as polar front, developed cyclone and typhon. 37 % of the total cases were listed due to polar front, 34 % Low athmospheric pressure and 30 % typhoon respectively. When peanut plants flooded for 40 hrs, the yield reduction ratio was 47 % 60 hrs 55 % and 75 hrs 98 %, as compared with non-flooded condition. As to flooding water quality, the yield reduction ratio of peanut inundated by clean water for 40 hrs was 19 %, and muddy water 46 %, as compared with non-flooded condition. This showed muddy water's flooding caused 17 % reduction in peanut yield compared with clean water's flood
