Effects of local difference and cultural practices on yield and major characters of malting barley

To investigate the variation of yield and protein of malting barley by different location land cultural practice, this study was carried out at Wando, Haenam, Gwangsan, Jangseong, and Damyang. Winter killed tiller ratio at Jangseong and Damyang was 8.6 % to 22.9 % because minimum temperature was -6.7 deg C in Jan. Heading date and maturing date was earlier, culm length was longer, 1,000 grains weight was smaller, but yield was higher at Wando than other locations. Protein content was not significant by varieties, but was higher by increasing1217 fertility, and it was shown wide difference among locations.
