This experiment was carried out to study the efficacy of the exogenous PGF2 alpha and oestradiol-17 beta injection for induction of parturition in white rats. Sixty of the pregnant white rats were injected with PGF2 alpha + oestradiol-17 beta. The survival rate of new born, effect of injection time and the amount of dosage of oestradiol-17 beta on the induction of parturition were investigated. The average survival rates of new born in groups injected with PGF2 alpha + oestradiol-17 beta on day 15, 17 and 19 of gestation were 53.30 %, 42.07 % and 22.63 %, respectively. There were differences by dosage of oestradiol-17 beta. Mean gestation length of rats injected PGF2 alpha + oestradiol-17 beta on day 15, 17 and 19 of gestation were 22.74+-0.27, 21.95+-0.32 and 21.54+-0.29 days, respectively
