Influence of lime rates and forms upon the change of phosphorus availability in a light soil

In a light sandy soil the influence of calcium carbonate and calcium oxide on the content of available1782 phosphorus was examined. Lime rates were applied acc. to 0.5, 1 and 1.5 hydrolytical acidity. Phosphorus rates were 750 mg P2O5 per pot or none. Both CaCO3 and CaO increased the yield of oats and the uptake of P2O5 in soil not fertilized with phosphorus. Content of available phosphorus in soil after the Egner - Riehm's method did not change remarkably due to lime application.
