Growth and yield performance of cotton grown in Maligaya clay loam as affected by different levels of organic fertilizers [Philippines]
1984
Abalos, A.N.
The different fertilizer levels used were 0.5 and 10 tons/ha. The application of organic matter in the form of chicken manure did not significantly influence the height of plants, number of harvestable bolls, weight per bolls and the yield at harvest time. Comparable results were obtained from the fertilized and unfertilized cotton plants. However, an increase in yield of 29.84% was realized numerically from the plants fertilized with 10 tons chicken manure per hectare over unfertilized plants. The soil from the untreated plots which had 3.36% organic matter content increased to 3.97% while those applied plots had 4.67%
