Essential oils were extracted from the needles of Benguet pine and Mindoro pine by steam distillation in a Clavenger apparatus. The yield of oil obtained from the Benguet pine needles depending on their freshness ranged from 0.33 to 1.81%. The fresh pine needles contained more oil than the dry needles. The yield of oil obtained from the Mindoro pine needles ranged from 0.42 to 1.01% based on the dry weight of the needles. The refractive index, ester number and acid number of the essential oils were determined. Qualitative and quantitative determination of the constituents present in the essential oils of Benguet pine and Mindoro pine needles were conducted by gas liquid chromatography on 10% Carbowax 20.M column. The essential oils of Benguet pine contained 58.31% alphapinene, 22.40% d-1-limonene1096 and 6.73% of bornyl acetate as major components. The minor components were campheno, beta pinene, myrcene, 1-8 cineole, alpha-phellandrone, linalool, caryophyllin, borneol, terpineol, geranyl acetate and gama octalactone. The principal constituents of essential oils of Mindoro pine needles are 42.26% alpha-pinene, 7.40% borneol and 22.00% of unidentified constituents. The minor constituents identified were camphene, beta-pinene, myrcene, d-1-limonene, terpindene, linalool, bornyl acetate, caryophillin, citral, nerol, geraniol and gamma octalac
