Industrialization and the agricultural production area as exemplified by the LGCD (The Legnica-Glogow Copper District)

Construction of mines, exploitation and enriching of copper ores and development of metallurgy constitute the main trends of development of the LGCD. Developing industry results in the emission of dusts and gases into the atmosphere, pollution of waters, excessive drying of some areas and designation of agricultural lands for non-agricultural purposes. All these worsen the quality of productional areas. In addition counter-measures are being taken by protecting, recultivating, integration and exchanging of agricultural lands. There is a need for fuller implementation of the resolutions of existing legislative acts and for increasing the level of payments for agricultural lands taken over for non-agricultural purposes
