Research was conducted at the Cicadas Experiment Station and under village conditions of Garut to study the lambing characteristics of Javanese Thin Tail ewes in the two environments. The average litter size was 1.94 at Cicadas and 1.96 at Garut. The litter weight at Cicadas was heavier than at Garut village. There was a positive relationship between body weight of the ewe at mating and litter size. Higher litter size was accompanied by increasing mortality of lambs.
