Cashew seed samples from Asembagus (East Java, Indonesia) with moisture contents of 9.63; 12.23 and 17.94 percent were stored in air tight cans; plastic envelopes, or in plastic envelopes inside air tight cans. Results showed that seeds with 9.63 percent moisture content had the best viability (60 percent germination rate), after 3 months storage. Among the 3 container types, plastic envelopes alone gave better effects on seed germination, as well as on height and dry weight of their seedlings, compared to other types.
