A local cultivar of alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) seeding rates were 1.0, 4.0 and 7.0 kg/ha while cutting was performed on alfalfa plants once, twice, thrice or four times. Results showed that seeding rate and number of cuttings had significant effect (P 0.05) on number of branches/plant, racemes /branch and pods/raceme whereas seeds/pod and the 1000 seed weight were not affected. The highest yield was obtained from plants that have been cut twice (middle of April and middle of May for the first and second cuts, respectively). Seeding rate of 4 kg/ha gave the highest seed yield. The significant interaction between the two factors indicated that the highest yield was obtained from plants that have sown at seeding rate of 4.0 kg/ha and cut twice. The possibility of producing seeds twice a year during the growing season was also investigated and confirmed
