Lead pollution of soil and groundwater at clay pigeon shooting ranges

Exemplary tests in regard to lead contamination of soil and groundwater were carried out at three clay pigeon shooting ranges. Investigation profiles in the main munition deposition area revealed, that the lead content was less than the margin tolerated in waste water sludge. No lead was detected in two groundwater samples taken down stream of the sites. In spite of large amounts of lead pellets covering the surface, only small traces of lead are leached into the soil.
