In a laboratory test, treatment of sweet corn seed with the fungicides captan and thiram, separately or in combination, did not reduce the rate of seed infection. Thiabendazole and imazalil markedly reduced seed infection, but the former was phytotoxic. In field experiments, seed disinfection with imazalil, separately or in combination with captan and thiram, increased seedling survival and/or shoot weight but not corn cob yield
