Utilization of domestic garbage for the disposal of industrial solid waste containing chrom

Research has been done in semi-pilot scale to dispose industrial solid waste containing chrom on domestic garbage. Evaluation on the composting process is based on the changes during the process and the quality of the compost, and also the reductions of C/N ratio and nutrients content. The results show that the industrial waste containing high concentration of chrom would inhibit the activity of microorganisms, but from the point of view of nutrients content, the disposal of chrom until 500 ppm is still within the limit of the chrom content in soil and the compost is safe to be used as a fertilizer.
