Cadmium uptake by Pisum sativum. Accumulation and defense mechanism

Английский. Roots, stems and leaves of Pisum sativum (cv. Caravella) grown in Hoagland's solution supplemented with 1, 2.5 and 5 mM Cd(NO3)2 were analyzed for Cd total content, Cd extractable by K-Phosphate buffer and separation of Cd induced protein fractions. The CD distribution in tissues showed that roots contained the higher amounts of total Cd, whereas a small fraction of absorbed Cd was translocated and accumulated in leaves. Conversely to stem and leaves, root extracts contained the lowest percentage of extractable Cd. Gel-filtration of tissue extracts showed that part of Cd eluted as the free metal ion, the remaining part of Cd total content being associated with molecular fraction with low app. M.W. (5.3 KD). итальянский. [Radici, fusti e foglie di Pisum sativum (cv. Caravella) cresciuto in soluzione di Hoagland con aggiunta di 1, 2.5 e 5 mM Cd(NO3)2 sono stati analizzati per il contenuto totale di Cd, Cd estraibile da tampone di K-Fosfato e separazione di frazioni proteiche indotte da Cd. La distribuzione di Cd nei tessuti ha mostrato che le radici contenevano la quantita' maggiore di Cd totale, laddove una piccola frazione di Cd assorbito e' stata trasferita ed accumulata nelle foglie. Al contrario di fusti e foglie, gli estratti radicali contenevano la percentuale piu' bassa di Cd estraibile. La filtrazione su gel degli estratti di tessuto ha evidenziato che parte del Cd veniva estratto come ione libero del metallo, la rimanente parte del contenuto totale di Cd era associata con una frazione molecolare a basso p.m. (5.3 KD). Una seconda frazione proteica con p.m. 30 KD era presente solo nell'estratto radicale. La sintesi di proteine indotte nei tessuti di piante trattate con concentrazioni crescenti di Cd era quantitativa]
