Effect of ozone on the starch and glucose content in wheat plants grown in open-top chambers [located in urban and rural sites]

Английский. Winter wheat (Triticum aestivum cv Gemini) was grown for three years in open-top chambers with charcoal-filtered air (F), and non-filtered air (NF) and outdoors in ambient air (AA) too. These experiments, conducted to determine the response of plants to ambient ozone on starch and glucose contents, have shown: a) wheat plants grown in NF chambers in the urban site showed lower levels of glucose than those grown in F chambers, but these differences were not statistically significant; on the other hand in the rural site the differences between NF and F chambers were quite negligible; b) starch content was higher in plants grown in F chambers with respect to those grown in NF chambers but, with only one exception, the differences were not statistically significant; c) glucose and starch were respectively higher and smaller in AA plots than in NF chamber plots

итальянский. Frumento invernale (Triticum aestivum cv Gemini) e' stato coltivato per tre anni in open-top chambers con aria filtrata (F), non filtrata (NF) e in aria ambiente (AA). Le determinazioni effettuate sul contenuto in amido e glucosio hanno dato i seguenti risultati: a. nel sito urbano le piantine di frumento cresciute in camere NF contengono meno glucosio rispetto a quelle cresciute in camere F, ma le differenze non raggiungono mai la significativita'; nel sito rurale invece le variazioni fra tesi F e NF sono irrilevanti; b. l'amido e' generalmente contenuto in maggior misura nelle piante cresciute in camere F rispetto a quelle cresciute in camere NF, ma, con una sola eccezione, le differenze non sono significative; c. nelle piantine cresciute in aria ambiente, rispetto a quelle cresciute nelle camere NF, si nota un maggior contenuto in glucosio e un minor contenuto in amido
