Respiratory activity of soil as an index of biological fertility [in Latium]. 2: Effect of different materials and cultivation

Английский. Aim of the present work has been to check the experimental metodology for the determination of the CO2 illustrated previously (note 1). Besides we studied the effect on the F parameter both of carbohydrates and nitrogen compounds and of the cultures. For that purpose we carried out respirometric experiments before and after the two rotations sorghum-wheat and maize-wheat on the untreated soil and after treatment with glucose, urea and glucose plus urea. The results obtained show a depressing effect of cultures on the soil biological fertility. By giving glucose, urea and glucose + urea to the soil, we had not substantial modifications on the trend of the respirometric curve; although they were generally higher than the ones of the check

итальянский. Obiettivo del presente lavoro e' stata la verifica della metodologia sperimentale per la determinazione della CO2 svolta dal terreno illustrata nella nota 1. E' stato altresi' studiato l'effetto sul parametro F sia di substrati carbonati ed azotati che della coltura. A tal fine sono state condotte esperienze respirometriche prima e dopo le rotazioni sorgo-frumento e mais-frumento sul terreno tal quale e dopo somministrazione di glucosio, urea, glucosio + urea. I risultati ottenuti hanno evidenziato un effetto depressivo delle colture sulla fertilita' biologica del terreno. La somministrazione di glucosio, urea e glucosio + urea non ha prodotto modifiche sostanziali sull'andamento della curva respirometrica pur fornendo generalmente valori superiori rispetto al controllo
