Viruses of diverse virus groups are widely spread in oak trees and induce different symptoms. Often virus-like symptoms are observed which are definitely caused by other pathogens or biotic factors than viruses. The evident reaction by oak trees to several pathogens is described in order to distinguish damage by viruses, fungis, insects or abiotic causes.
