This dissertation is perceived as an initial step to provide information on the future needs and prospects of distance education in agriculture, particularly in agricultural colleges of Papua New Guinea and the general presentation approach is by discussion and analysis of major areas that relate to the topic. This is done in the hope of identifying specific advantages of distance education that can be utilized to alleviate problems of agricultural colleges. As such, the basic principles, concepts are outlined, and the general situation of agriculture education particularly in agricultural colleges are presented.
