This report describes an alternative method for generating costs and returns to small-scale processing of cassava and sweetpotatoes at the village level in the Philippines where the usual sample survey methods are sometimes inappropriate. The sample data used in this report were taken from the author's studies of root crop processing specially of indigenous technologies and their improved versions.
