Aufgrund der laufenden Zunahme der Weltbevoelkerung (besonders in den Entwicklungslaendern), der unzureichenden Nahrungsmittelproduktion, ihrer Verteilung und der Verluste waehrend Lagerung und Transport sind derzeit 10% der Weltbevoelkerung vom Hunger bedroht. Es werden Moeglichkeiten eroertert, die tierische Produktion -vor allem in den Entwicklungslaendern- zu verbessern, denn es werden 4x so viele tierische Produkte in diesen Laendern benoetigt, als im Jahr 1980.
