[Development of an expert system to help to take a decision in the diagnostic and financial treatment of agricultural enterprises]

Due to the importance that the financial analysis has recently adquired in the agricultural enterprises which has been seen increased by the entry in force of the law 18.985 since 1992 on one hand, and to the inexistence of specialists and software in the area on the other, it has been developed an expert system to help to make a decision in the diagnosis and financial treatment on the agricultural enterprises. Experts on functional analysis, teachers of the Austral University of Chile, a person with studies on Agrarian Sciences and another that has also finished his studies in Computing Civil Engineering took part in the development of the system. Two methodologies were used; one based on computing and proposed by the Computing and Human Resources World Center and the French Society of Artificial Intelligence "COGNITECH", and a financial one which allowed them to design the financial system in a general way. We can conclude that the technology used by the expert systems makes posible to keep up to date the accounting data, leaving it at the disposal of the farmer so that he can identify the necessary information to evaluate the economic conditions of his exploitation. The system has been designed in such a way that it can quide the reasoning of the farmer following the logic of the financial management, that is to say, to lead him to raise the adequate questions in relation with the economic conditions of his enterprise, not only looking forward to the cause or explanations of the problems found, but also the most feasible solutions according to his own reality. For this, it has been created a feigsing example which allows the user to see the effects of eventual decision on the financial situation of his enterprise
