Pumpest and soil profile analyses for the Brymaroo Catchment [Queensland]

This report documents work carried out in the salt-effected Brymaroo Catchment near Oakey, Queensland since publication of the results of an earlier investigation in Doherty and Stallman (1992). This initial work culminated in the construction of a groundwater model for the catchment and the use of that model in ranking the cost-effectiveness of various salinity remediation strategies. The present report records the results and interpretation of pumptests carried out on two production bores situated within the lower part of the catchment, and documents the results of a small exploratory drilling investigation that preceded the installation of the production bores. As well as this, a total of 21 sets of soil profile samples were taken within the salt-affected area, within the proposed irrigation area and further afield. The results of chemical analyses performed on these samples are also documented.
