Effects of logging, fire and drought on three species of lizards in Mumbulla State Forest on the south coast of New South Wales
1991
Lunney, D. | Eby, P. | O'Connell, M. (National Parks and Wildlife Service, Hurstville (Australia))
Censuses were taken of 3 species of common skink in 4 age-classes of forest: unlogged, just logged, 1-year logged, and 10-15 year regrowth. A fire and an intense drought occurred during the census period. The 2 Lampropholis species declined in population between the recently logged and the older regrowth; while Eulamprus heatwolei, a shade-loving species, increased. Fire affected only the number of 1 species on ridges, but drought markedly depressed numbers of all species.
