The current pasture cultivar merit-tests conducted in Victoria and Tasmania, including new proprietary cultivars not yet on the Australian market, experimental material and material emanating from national improvement programmes are summarised. Cumulative yields are indexed and summarised where available. Grasses covered include ryegrasses, fescue, cocksfoot and phalaris. Subterranean, white, and red clovers, lucerne and annual medics and some alternative annual and perennial legumes have been evaluated.
