Pollen vectors and pollination of faba beans in southern Australia [Vicia faba L.; South Australia; Victoria]
1991
Stoddard, F.L. (Adelaide Univ., Glen Osmond (Australia). Dept. of Plant Sciences)
A survey of commercial crops showed that honeybees were the only pollen vectors. The incidence of pollination was never less than 50 percent and averaged 80 percent. It is unlikely that growers of faba beans in Australia will need to provide supplementary hives to ensure adequate pollination.
