Cattle on a granite soil farm on the northern tablelands showed progressive illthrift and a tendency to strip bark from trees, despite apparently excellent improved pasture and good conditions. A supplementation trial revealed Co deficiency. This may be more widespread than previously recognised, particularly on these readily leached soils.
