The paper presents a population of 198 horses phenotyped for their blood groups, in which a number of 27 factors of blood group belonging to 7 genetic systems were identified: A, C, D, K, P, Q, U. Among these, D system is the most complex. The specificities Aa, Ad, Dd, Ca and Af have the highest frequency compared to Ua. A number of alleles belonging to the complex systems A, D, Q have the highest frequency in the genotypes of those systems such as adf allele in system A, cgm allele in system D and aby allele in system Q. For the immunisations a number of 148 couples donnor-receiver were formed, from which 137 complex sera were obtained; a number of 30 sera were purified for 15 antigenic specificities. A first set of 15 Romanian reagents were thus obtained which can be used for the determination of the following factors of blood group: Aa, Ad, Ca, Da, Db, Dc, Dd, De, Dg, Di, Dk, Dn, Ka, Qc, Ua. With these reagents typifications and paternity tests for horses can be performed.
